The ideal way to relate to and appreciate our material world can be enjoyed when we recognize everything and everyone is gracing us by appearing; to interact with us for awhile. They enrich our impermanent life here and we are grateful to be so blessed.
It is more than alright to enjoy our relationships with others and our material possessions. Some feel they must renounce relationships and things to realize spiritual freedom, perhaps because their interpretation of enlightenment teachings is too literal .
People and possessions need not be rejected or eliminated from our lives to realize spiritual freedom. However, we can release attachments we may have formed to people and things, because we misunderstood the fluid, yin-yang nature of this relative life. We renounce if need be, any possessiveness we may have developed to that which cannot be possessed any more than a passing image on a movie screen.
